Website upkeep using your Contact Management System (CMS) that is WordPress need not be a drag. There are many jobs that you can do to and with your website to keep it up to date and in tip top condition.

Let’s look at some…

Update the Copyright Year

Some WordPress Themes have the function that this is done automatically, but if not then you will need to change the code in the Footer or Theme Options yourself. Familiarise yourself with this as it will need doing each year.

Add in New Testimonials

Keep these up to date as it will keep the page fresh. Google Search will thank you too. Updating the page won’t take longer than 5 minutes.

Clear Down Old Events

Anything that has passed can be taken off of your Events page. If you have a calendar of events then you can choose to take old events off of here also. Keeping this page up to date will show your potential customers that you care about your website.

Update Your (Restaurant) Menus

Pub and restaurant websites need theme and seasonal menus taking off once the time has passed. Leaving them on makes the website look dated. Again it takes 5 minutes to update these each time.

Update your Portfolio

Depending on what set up you have for this for your business, you can update with recent images and projects. This makes the website look fresh and of course displays your best work.

Add a Case Study

These work great for Google Search AND they show off your expertise really well. They speak volumes of what you do and have done for clients, much better than you describing services on your static pages. It takes 5 minutes add a Case Study (Project in WordPress) with a bit of prep work before hand.

Blog Some More Please!

You will need to prep this (I usually write blog posts on the train as it’s undisturbed time). Choose a featured image and make sure you think about keywords. The blog post can then be added in 5 minutes (if you know where everything goes (if not just ask me please!)).

If you like what you have read, or are abit confused, or now need some tea and cake – Then get in touch! Use the Contact Me form on this website and I’ll get right back to you!
