Health & Safety Policy

Let Me Organise You provides Online Marketing solutions for Businesses in the Private, Public and Charity Sectors.

Setting the scene

Mostly operating from Home Office Premises and Client Premises, work is done onsite, or remotely. Business Owner, Rebecca Harvey works to provide this solution to fellow business.

The home office is functional Monday to Friday 8.00-18:30, and is usually occupied for 50% of this time. Rebecca Harvey performs cleaning duties as and when needed.

Rebecca Harvey has prepared her own health and safety policy statement, using the combined template available on the HSE website at www.hse.gov.uk/risk/risk-assessment-and-policy-template.doc She genuinely cares for this business and wants to portray this in this health and safety policy.

Rebecca downloaded the template and referred to the example policy statement and other guidance available on the HSE website at www.hse.gov.uk/risk. This helped her to think about the things that should be documented and built into her own health and safety policy, such as remote working, personal protective equipment, client consultation and training etc. Rebecca has decided that she would be the most competent (experienced and capable) person to take responsibility for health and safety issues.

Rebecca presented the policy statement at the 2nd December 2011 and decided to review and update the document every year or straightaway if there are any major changes in the workplace (Updated July 2016).

Employers with five or more employees must have a written health and safety policy and risk assessment.
For further information and to view our example risk assessments, see www.hse.gov.uk/risk.
